For 20 years HAWC has supported a “Holiday Store” for survivors experiencing domestic violence. Through support of the community gift cards, jackets, gloves, hats and toys have reached thousands of families. This week will start the holiday season with Chanukah, on Wednesday the 27th at sunset through December 5th
Over the next month individuals receiving HAWC services will have the opportunity to receive all the gifts donated to HAWC by the community. Days will be set aside for them to visit the “Holiday Store” and volunteers will join staff in this giving. In order for our “Holiday Store” to be successful we need the communities help.In keeping with our mission we are asking for unwrapped new gifts that are gender neutral, multicultural, and for all ages. We do not accept toy guns or gifts with violent themes.
We especially appreciate gift cards for our families. This empowers a parent to be able to buy specific gifts for their child.
