Support Groups
Isolation perpetuates domestic violence.
Our support groups provide the opportunity for individuals experiencing domestic violence to come together, share their experiences and learn from each other.
Very often individuals are in different stages of an abusive relationship.
It is a great comfort for those who have been isolated by abuse to come together, gain knowledge about domestic violence, connect to their inner strength, gain decision-making strength from each other, and break the isolation that some have endured for years.
HAWC facilitates weekly evening and morning support groups throughout our service area. These groups are held in Lynn (English and Spanish), Salem, and Gloucester.
Some of the morning groups provide child care upon request so the parent will know that their children are safe and close by.
All groups are free and confidential. Locations are available only through our hotline.
For information on support groups please call the hotline 1-800-547-1649.
