Due to the sensitive nature of the work we do, HAWC requires most* volunteers and staff to undertake 27 hours of training facilitated by our program staff.

In this comprehensive training, you will learn about:

  • Privilege and oppression, and how it contributes to domestic violence
  • The different types of abuse
  • Screening tools
  • Legislation related to domestic violence
  • How to interact with clients

Training is offered three times a year, in February, May/June and September. Fill out an application today, and start the process of becoming a volunteer!
