Due to the sensitive nature of the work we do, HAWC requires most* volunteers and staff to undertake 33 hours of training facilitated by our program staff.
In this comprehensive training, you will learn about:
- Privilege and oppression, and how it contributes to domestic violence
- The different types of abuse
- Screening tools
- Legislation related to domestic violence
- How to interact with clients
Training is offered three times a year, in February, May/June and September. Fill out an application today, and start the process of becoming a volunteer!
