Working to Heal Breakfast 2012

“I owe so much to HAWC. They saved my family and me. Their direction and guidance gave us strength to move on and heal. HAWC made sure I had supplies for school and presents on Christmas day. HAWC helped me heal and make fantasies of safety and strength real. They showed me I can be - bigger, stronger, better, whatever I want to be. They taught me its ok to trust and that life gets better. “

Keynote speaker, Bianca Ortiz, stated. "I want to help others the way my mother and I were helped at HAWC." The focus of this event to honor and celebrate the strength of domestic violence survivors.  Executive Director Candace Waldron stated, "HAWC is unique on the North Shore. We not only provide direct services, we work to create a society where you have the right to be treated with respect by those with whom you live regardless of your race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, language, culture, country of origin, age, ability, income or immigration status.
