services and support to survivors of domestic abuse on Massachusetts’ North Shore to help them

General Description
This full time, 40 hours/week position is responsible for providing crisis intervention, advocacy and referral services to survivors of domestic violence through our community office in Salem, MA. This position is compensated hourly in the range of $45,000-$50,000 annually with consideration given to bilingual language skills and experience. This position is generally scheduled for 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday- Friday, with bimonthly participation in client workshops that may occur after 5:00 pm. The position is in a hybrid work model with the option to work up to two days remotely and is supervised by HAWC’s Manager of Community-Based Services. This position requires access to reliable transportation and ability to meet in person with clients at each of our service locations: Salem, Lynn and Gloucester. A $500 bonus is available after three months of employment in good standing and a second bonus of $500 available after six months of employment in good standing.

Position Responsibilities:
- Provide support, crisis intervention, advocacy and information and referral services to survivors of domestic violence
- Complete intakes and follow up sessions with clients
- Maintain a client caseload, providing follow-up contact and services as needed
- Complete statistical paperwork for each client contact
- Co-facilitate support groups in rotation with other Advocates
- Participate in meetings with other local agencies
- Participate in outreach/tabling events with the local community
Position Requirements:
- Participate in HAWC’s 27-hour training of new staff and volunteers
- Attend regular supervision, team meetings and all staff meetings
- Able to flex hours to meet position responsibilities
- Must have reliable access to transportation
- Familiarity with basic computer/internet use
Preferred Characteristics:
- Bilingual/Bicultural strongly preferred
- Commitment to and experience providing trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Commitment to promoting equity and inclusion amongst clients, team members and community members
