Position Summary:
This full-time position provides crisis intervention, advocacy and referral services to victims of domestic violence in our Lynn Office.
Position Experience:
- Bilingual/Bicultural
- Commitment/experience working with victims of domestic violence
- Knowledge of domestic violence and crisis intervention
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Commitment to promoting cultural competency and social justice values
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to work in a health care setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Position Details:
- Provide support, crisis intervention, advocacy and information and referral services to victims of domestic violence.
- Complete intakes and follow up sessions with clients.
- Provide follow-up telephone calls and services to victims as needed
- Completes statistical paper work for each client contact
- Complete quarterly and annual grant reports for VAWA
- Facilitate support groups: Acculturation & Domestic Violence 101 (including one after hours)
- Conduct occasional presentations for staff and service recipients of local agencies
- Participate in HAWC’s 40 hour training of new staff and volunteers
- Participate in coalition building meetings with other local agencies, such as the DV Task Force, the Lynn High Risk Team, DCF, and others
- Attends regular supervision, team meetings and all staff meetings
- Participates in after-hours on-call rotation
- Able to flex hours to meet position responsibilities
