Internship – Communications

Introduction
HAWC’s mission is to create social change by taking action against personal and societal patterns of violence and oppression. HAWC provides services to victims of domestic violence residing in 23 cities and towns on Massachusetts’ North Shore in order that they may make informed, independent decisions about their futures. Internship Program Overview
HAWC is looking for a communications intern for the Fall 2025 session to work under the direction of the Director of Development and/or Development Operations Manager to increase social media presence as well as engagement through electronic newsletters, donor research, and more.

Position Details
Manage social media content and digital newsletters.
● Create fall/winter calendar and content on FB, Instagram, LinkedIn.
● Create newsletter calendar and content for donors, volunteers, and staff.

Learning Opportunities
The communications intern aids in all aspects of development activities and will gain insight into the broad range of tasks that support fundraising and community outreach in a non-profit organization. The intern will assist in activities related to volunteer management, fundraising, and community engagement. The Intern will also have the opportunity to shadow Team members at community meetings and events to learn more about coordinated community response and local resources.
