People transitioning from an abusive situation to a more secure one often need lots of household supplies to get started.

Consider donating these items to help someone who is transitioning from an abusive relationship to a more secure situation. If you have an item you are interested in donating that does not appear on this list, please contact us at 978.744.2299 ext. 114 or giving@hawcdv.org to inquire if it’s something we might need.

Your donations of basic need items help our clients and our shelter families as they work to rebuild their lives. You can order directly from our Amazon Wish List and have it shipped directly to our Salem office: HAWC, 27 Congress St. #204 , Salem, MA 01970.

  • Diapers (all sizes but especially larger sizes)

  • New queen and twin size sheet sets and pillow cases
  • New queen and twin size comforters
  • New pillows
  • Shower curtains
  • Shower liners
  • Laundry detergent
  • Bleach
  • Sponges
  • Toilet paper/paper towels
  • New bath towels and washcloths
  • New clothes and shoes
  • New or used winter coats
  • New welcome door mats for our Emergency Shelter
  • New kitchen items
  • Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, cups
  • New arts and craft supplies
  • Notebooks, journals and folders for clients to store important information and notes
  • Rolls of quarters for laundry

We cannot pick up furniture donations, but if you are able to transport it to us, we may accept it on a case-by-case basis. Please give us a call at 978.744.2299 ext. 114. We do not accept wood furniture of any kind.

If you are in imminent danger and need to use HAWC's emergency shelter, call HAWC's 24-Hour Hotline any time of the day or week.

You may also be referred to HAWC's emergency shelter via a community advocate, a doctor, the police, or SafeLink.
