HAWC Kicks Off Back to School Drive!

August 25, 2015 //  by Goodwin Suzanne

Kids
As area children prepare to go back to school this fall, HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change) will once again be collecting new back to school items for our clients who have school-aged children. All donated items will be distributed to the children (elementary through high school) in HAWC’s shelter and to children whose parents seek out other HAWC services. Backpacks are a major need; other useful items include: pens, markers, pencils & pencil cases, calculators, highlighters, binders, trapper keepers, loose leaf paper, notebooks, folders, erasers and other school supplies for children. Click here for the full list of supplies.

HAWC will also gladly accept gift cards or certificates to purchase supplies.

The donated items will be given to all children in need who have a parent currently using or who has recently used HAWC services. The remaining supplies will be opened up to other community members in need when all of our clients have been served.

All items can be dropped off at HAWC’s Salem office (Shetland Park – 27 Congress St., Suite 204) Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm through September 4. Please call us at 978.744.2299 ext. 114 or visit hawcdv.org/give for more information.
