Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC) and its shelter program will be featured at Love Life Now’s 2015 Annual White Ribbon Gala on February 27. The gala celebrates the White Ribbon Campaign, which is the world’s largest movement of men and boys to end violence against women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.
Love Life Now Foundation, Inc. is an organization dedicated to promoting awareness about violence, as well as bridging the gap between shelters and their communities. Each year, the foundation holds the gala and spotlights the work of a domestic violence shelter that is making a difference.
“We at HAWC are thrilled to be featured at this event,” said Anthony DiPietro, HAWC’s executive director. “As we seek to raise awareness about domestic violence, we recognize that it is not solely an issue for women, and we encourage the involvement of men by speaking against violence and speaking about their experiences as victims as well.”
The Annual White Ribbon Gala is at Phillips Banquet Hall in Boston, Mass., and begins at 8 pm. Visit http://lovelifenow.org/event/save-the-date/ for ticket information.
